Most challenging interview

Published 3 months ago • 3 min read

Hi Reader!

Have you ever had a "challenging" interview? I've had more than you could imagine anywhere from talking to a reporter while getting my legs waxed (ouch) to while I was food shopping to while I was breastfeeding! Check out the post below to see one of my most challenging interviews back from the days when I would never say 'no' to a reporter.

Although I rarely turn down an interview and for some journalists, I do drop what I'm doing...I'm much more selective about when and where I give my opinions!

And for those planned interviews at home...you'll need some decent equipment -- you'll hear about that below, too.

Sending warmest regards and appreciation,

Bon

Why looking back helps you look ahead

I could tell you all day long about how valuable it is to get your name in the Here’s what no one would ever know about this TV interview:

😲I got the call to do this interview while I was in the hospital after having a C-section just 2 days earlier.

😮I did this segment a few days after I got released.

😯I did it on the condition that they would only film me “above my boobs.” This was my first time breastfeeding and I was afraid I might ‘leak’ during the interview!!

😔 I didn’t feel comfortable in my body after having a baby – but looking back I should have just been filled with gratitude for what my body had just done for me.

🥹It was only the 2nd big interview I had ever done and I was super scared.

If this happened today, I would have given myself time to heal, recover and appreciate this unique time (and I probably wouldn’t be rockin’ those bangs!)

It’s looking back on my 30+ years of media experience that helps me to bring you the good, bad and the ugly of standing in the spotlight. #noregrets ...but lots of valuable stories!

You Asked, I Answered:

Question:

What kind of lighting do you use for your video shoots at home?

Answer:

Although I have all types of studio lights…my favorite source is my window.

Here’s where ‘all natural’ has nothing to do with food! 😂

But during the pandemic I had to dig out all of the audio/video equipment I bought for "some day" and I had to purchase bigger, more professional lighting (for doing media tours and interviews from home), a Yeti mic (for Radio Media Tours and podcast interviews), an elevated stand (to use instead of a bunch of books to be at eye level in videos) and much more.

To make your home or office into a studio -- you don't have to pay a full month's rent -- you can do this inexpensively and efficiently.
